What we're doing to improve accessibility

Accessibility roadmap

Over the last 2 years we have completed a series of accessibility enhancement project sprints to address some of the major accessibility issues that were present on the Bath Spa University website. A log of these changes can be found in the link below.

A small number of minor issues may still be encountered as outlined in the non-compliance section above. We are continuing regular accessibility sprints with the aim of fixing these as soon as possible over the coming months.

As our website is regularly updated with new content and design elements, we perform automated and manual checks every 3 months to continually assess the accessibility of the website. The next accessibility review will be in March 2026.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 11th November 2025. It is due to be reviewed by Bath Spa University Q1 of 2026.

This website was last tested in November 2025 by an external web development contractor. He used a combination of simple manual checks and automated tests to find common barriers to users with accessibility needs.

We tested a sample set of pages that represent the main templates and page layouts that are available within our content management system.

Manual checks included using each page without a mouse, viewing the page at different zoom settings, and simulating viewing the page on a small screen.

The automated checks were carried out using aXe DevTools.
