Artist statement
Aileen experiments across a range of materials and processes. She works in sculpture, painting and photography to probe the edges of our perceptions. She makes work that explores our chosen pathways, revealing new perspectives on spatial and temporal phenomena. Working to balance planning and chance, labour and experimentation, she playfully challenges the boundaries between painting and sculpture by deconstructing its components - form, colour, material, scale and duration.
