Claire’s work encourages reflection on the fragile environmental balances we disrupt through our everyday actions. Using clay with unused and unusable materials to explore and find meanings and relationships, she aims to create renewed awareness of the beauty – and vulnerability – of our environment. The relationship between maker, material, and the environment is central to Claire’s practice. Following an MA in Fine Art at Bath Spa University she continues to research and explore microplastic emissions from domestic laundry through her work, using the shape and unique patterns of the washing machine drum as a symbol of our laundry’s impact on the ocean.
