Artist statement
Debbie is a storyteller who uses a wide variety of methods to engage her audience. A creative producer and theatre maker, her site-specific drama includes Midsummer Dusk (2022) and Christmas Carol (2024) at The Dissenters’ Cemetery, Frome. Her puppetry work includes “Speedy”, performed at the Elevate Festival, Theatre Royal Bath (2022). Debbie has had scripts included in TRB festivals such as Battle Scars – a short radio play for Play Back (2024). She focuses her work on real lives lived with compassion and humour. As a creative producer she has co-founded Chimes, a monthly spoken word night in Bath, and started Rainbow Paradiso, a cabaret night at The Komedia, Bath.
