Artist statement
Maya Arthur is a freelance illustrator and artist, specialising in character creation, world-building, and storytelling. Working primarily with watercolour, gouache, and pen & ink, she is expanding her practice by incorporating ceramics to bring her characters to life in a new medium. After showcasing her work at craft fairs throughout 2024, Maya is focused on further developing her product range and creating new pieces that reflect her ongoing creative development, with her own online store launching soon.
