Artist statement

Megan is a creative writer, director, and performer with a focus in turning the spotlight onto modern issues and vulnerable backgrounds, through honest live theatre and fiction. Life isn’t perfect, and neither are her characters, as they make uncomfortably human choices, provoking thought from audiences and readers. For SparkFest 2025, Megan wrote and performed “Talk Too Much,” a short play exploring a young girl’s insecurities around dating for the first time. Megan is currently writing her debut novel; a mystery-romance—“Between The Lines”—which follows two investigative journalists with a bitter past on a missing-person case, as they discover there are no secrets that time does not reveal. With a keen interest in giving a voice to the voiceless, Megan’s work is informed by the current social and political climate, and how theatre can become accessible to all, regardless of their backgrounds. She plans to expand her creative practice further by developing workshops and theatre that not only educates, but immerses others in the world that she loves. She wants people to feel, and know that they’re safe in doing so.
