Artist statement
Tim Southall is an artist and maker guided by the Quaker principles of Peace, Equality, Truth, Integrity, Simplicity and Sustainability. Through his walking practice and research of maps and archives, he unearths traces of hidden histories that lead to unexpected creative outcomes. Tim was shortlisted for the Lucca Cartasia Biennale in 2022, and in 2024 he collaborated with Rose Zhang on a performance piece at the Holburne Museum, Bath. Currently Tim is seeking opportunities to collaborate through ephemeral interventions in the landscape, or community engagements and performances that highlight environmental or social justice issues.
