Emerge is a dynamic studio residency program for Bath Spa University alumni and community artists, empowering professional creativity to thrive.
WHO WE ARE
We are more than a workspace, we are a community for sustainable creative growth. Emerge Studio is Bath Spa University’s dedicated space for creative graduates and community artists. Since 2020, we’ve supported over 30 residents each year through studio residencies, mentoring, and professional development opportunities. Our mission is simple: to help graduates thrive in freelance and self-employed careers while contributing to Bath’s vibrant creative ecology.
WHAT WE DO
Residents access studio space, fixed desks, hot-desking, meeting and podcasting facilities. With mentoring, coaching, and cross-disciplinary support, we help creative graduates develop routines, collaborate, and transition confidently into resilient freelance careers or scalable creative ventures.
WHY IT MATTERS
Creative graduates face major barriers to building sustainable careers. Emerge helps them bridge that gap by developing skills, networks, and confidence. With 71 applicants for 33 spaces, demand shows our impact. Alumni go on to launch businesses, mentor others, and enrich Bath’s vibrant, inclusive, and resilient creative community.
